The Fire Fighter will be primarily based at one of three BLiSS Sites that serve the Life Support Services contract in support of the State Department.  The Fire Fighter will be responsible for utilizing resources to accomplish operational requirements and will report to their assigned Crew Chief or Assistant Site Chief.  The additional duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive: 

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.  Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
  • Serve as a structural and airport firefighter, first responder, and HAZMAT responder on a scheduled rotation.
  • Participate in Fire and Emergency Services activities including: fire suppression, EMS, rescue, public assistance, fire investigation, fire prevention, pre-fire planning, Fire Company training, public education, clinical training and routine maintenance of apparatus, equipment and facilities.
  • Support Emergency Management functions as needed.  
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: One (1) to five (5) years’ Fire Fighting experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in Fire and Emergency Services, with the ability to maintain all required certifications and licensures.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.

    • Proficient computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Education: A high school diploma or GED.
  • Passport, Licenses and Certifications:
  • As part of pre-contingency requirements, by the time the visa process starts, candidates must possess a valid passport with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration date with 8 blank pages.
    • Valid drivers’ license.
    • DoD First Responder and CPR Certified.
    • DoD, IFSAC, or ProBoard:
      • Fire Fighter I
      • Fire Fighter II
      • HazMat Awareness and Operations
      • Airport Fire Fighter
      • Telecommunicator I and II are preferred.
  • Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance or Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) or be able to obtain a favorable MRPT certification or US Government clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract.
  • Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
  • Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

DESIRED:

  • Prefer DoD, IFSAC, or ProBoard Driver Operator Pumper, Mobile Water Supply, and/or ARFF Driver Operator.
  • Prefer Telecommunicator I and Telecommunicator II.
  • Two (2) years’ international experience in challenging locations, preferably working in the Middle East, with a working knowledge of customs and cultural differences.
  • Experience working with Amentum /PAE.
