The LCCA Electrician will be based at one of three Amentum sites in Iraq and serve the Light Construction Crew under the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for performing electrical requirements on construction, remodeling or renovation projects and will report to the LCC Project Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.  Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
  • Install typical industrial, commercial and residential circuitry and general machine circuitry related to construction projects.
  • Install or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment such as PLCs, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment, working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
  • Locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
  • Perform standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
  • Use a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
  • Report to and receive assignments, instructions, and directions from the LCC Supervisor.
  • Read and interpret instructions and documentation and plans work activities.
  • Move materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site.
  • Complete records, maintain tools and equipment, and perform various clean-up activities.
  • Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment (PPE).
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. Will be asked to work across Trades when Electrical work is not scheduled.

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
    • A high school diploma (or GED). A vocational diploma in carpentry or completion of an Apprentice program with a Journeyman Electrician.
    • Ten (10) years industrial/commercial electrical experience.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards of the electrical trade, related safety precautions and considerable skill required for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment: 120/208V3P60Hz, 277/480V3P60Hz and 220/400V3P50Hz and equipment
    • Knowledge and ability to utilize and reference both NEC and BS Code and apply best practice for project safety and completion.
    • Must be able to be flexible with work schedule.
    • Good organizational, time management and communication skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions.
    • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting electrical functions at an overseas facility.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
    • Extensive knowledge of British Standard Electrical Codes and standards (50Hz)
    • Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
    • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
    • Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
    • Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED. Diploma from a two-year trade school program for training Electricians.
  • Passport, Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid drivers’ license from Home of Record.
  • As part of pre-contingency requirements, at the time of applying, candidates must possess a valid passport of home country (or have started the process of obtaining one) with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration date with 8 blank pages.
    • Valid Journeyman Electrical License.
  • Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued Secret security clearance or be granted US Government Secret clearance prior to being hired.  Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract.
  • Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
  • Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

DESIRED:

  • Previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions.
  • Experience working with Amentum.
