IT Supervisor

The IT Systems Supervisor will be based at one of three AMENTUM sites in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will provide Information Technology (IT) architecture standardization requirements and provide supervisor oversight for the AMENTUM IT & Communications sections located throughout Department of State (DOS) sites within Iraq, to include the Baghdad Embassy Compound (BEC), the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center (BDSC), and other AMENTUM secure locations as directed. This position will report to the IT Manager and provide direct or indirect supervision of subordinate IT professionals. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
DUTIES:
- Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
- Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
- Oversee and coordinate the operations for AMENTUM IT communications and computer systems that enable AMENTUM personnel to continue O&M operations 24 hours a day.
- Provide standard operating procedures (SOPs) and IT operational standards.
- Facilitate, oversee, and validate backups, archiving, and recovery operations.
- Provide and/or coordinate any required specialized training of AMENTUM IT and communications site technicians.
- Facilitate, oversee, and assist with the installation, testing, maintaining, updating, and troubleshooting of AMENTUM hardware, software and communications systems products.
- Establish, implement, and monitor PC standards and procedures to include backup and recovery procedures.
- Facilitate and/or assist with the identification, evaluation, and correction of hardware, software, and operational problems.
- Oversee the development and maintaining of necessary service logs and records.
- Coordinate required and/necessary hardware, software and systems updates from vendors.
- Provide technical guidance, and if necessary, limited training to end-users.
- Develop project plans, implement, oversee, and coordinate the involvement of the appropriate staff, clients, and vendors to ensure effective implementation and fielding of new or enhanced IT and communications systems.
- Oversee and monitor the timely resolution of user service desk/help desk tickets to include service requests, problem resolution and requests for new or replacement equipment.
- Monitor the status of/with manufacturers and service providers of current/”in force” maintenance agreements, warranties, and site licenses.
- Oversee, and assist with as necessary, the installation of internet/intranet systems to include servers, firewalls, internet appliances, broadband equipment, power supplies, racks & cabinets, switches, hubs, fiber optic cables and UTP cable.
- Oversee, and assist as necessary, with the troubleshooting of all IT systems to maintain stability and reliability.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
REQUIRED:
- Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: Three (3) to five (5) years’ related experience working in the field of Information Technology.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- CompTIA Security+ or higher
- Demonstrated problem solving and organization skills.
- Ability to act independently is required.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, researching skills, strong MS Office Suite skills, and possess the drive to learn new IT concepts.
- Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Passport, Licenses and Certifications: As part of pre-contingency requirements, by the time the visa process starts, candidates must possess a valid passport of home country with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration date with 8 blank pages.
- Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance or be able to obtain a favorable US Government clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract.
- Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures
- Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by AMENTUM and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.
DESIRED:
- Current Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification is highly preferred.
- Previous out of home country experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions are a plus.
- Experience working with AMENTUM.
WORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONS:
This position may be located in a war zone, in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120- 130 degrees Fahrenheit/50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment, as well as willing and able to deploy to Iraq for extended periods. Work schedules are a minimum of 6 days per week and 10 hours per day, while some jobs have higher daily and weekly minimums. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time and being capable of running and ‘duck & cover’ during emergencies without putting oneself or others at risk.
