The Locksmith will be based at Union III Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of Defense. This position will be responsible for maintaining all locks, latches, and cypher locks. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.  Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
  • Cut keys; lubricate, maintain, and repair cylinders; repair or reset combination or keypad locks.
  • Gain access to spaces by picking or forcing locks in an emergency or when a key is lost.
  • Maintain accurate records of lock and key installation and maintains lock cylinder system as designed to facilitate the use of master keys.
  • Make modifications to the locking and master key system to meet the needs of the client. 
  • Responsible for maintaining and managing an inventory of all parts and equipment required for his/her area and for maintaining adequate security on sensitive items.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: Three (5) years’ experience as a Locksmith.
  •  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: servicing, installing, diagnosing troubleshooting, repairing, and certifying GSA locks, vaults, and containers. Servicing, installing, and maintaining CYPHER locks.
    • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
    • Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
    • Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
    • Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.

  • Education: A high school diploma or GED and successful completion of a military, trade, or technical school training as a locksmith, or acceptable work experience to substitute for formal training.
  • Licenses and Certifications: GSA Certified Locksmith and Inspector, Valid drivers’ license from Home of Record.
  • Security Vetting: Already possess a Secrete Clearance or be able to obtain a favorable clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required clearance level for the duration of the contract.
  • Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
  • Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

DESIRED:

  • Previous out of home country experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions are a plus.
  • Experience working with Amentum-PAE.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
  • Experience providing excellent customer services.
