The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, commonly known as UN Women, is a global champion for women's rights and empowerment. Our mission is to promote gender equality and empower women around the world.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to fill the position of Country Representative - Strategic Leader for Women's Empowerment in Iraq. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our country office and overseeing the implementation of our programs and projects in the region.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the advancement of women's rights and empowerment in Iraq. As Country Representative, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing strategic plans for the country office;
- Leading the design, planning, and implementation of country-specific programming;
- Providing technical guidance and support to staff and partners;
- Representing UN Women at national and international levels.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master’s degree in development-related fields, economics, or public policy;
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible development experience;
- Experience in leading teams and managing programs in developing countries;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
