Senior Development Coordination Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Coordination Officer to lead our team in the UN Development Coordination Office. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to join our organization and contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

The Senior Development Coordination Officer will be responsible for providing strategic guidance to the Resident Coordinator and UN Country Team on effective, quality, and timely UN support for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. Key responsibilities include facilitating and overseeing the initiation, establishment, and coordination of external partnerships and joint resource mobilization efforts, as well as coordinating the roll-out and implementation of the efficiency agenda.

1. Strategic Guidance: Lead the provision of strategic guidance to the RC and UNCT on effective, quality, and timely UN support for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda through the Common Country Analysis (CCA) and UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF).
2. External Partnerships: Facilitate and oversee the initiation, establishment, and coordination of external partnerships and joint resource mobilization efforts for the new generation UNSDCF.
3. Efficiency Agenda: Coordinate and support the roll-out and implementation of the efficiency agenda (Business Operations Strategy, Common Premises, and Local Shared Service Centers/Common Back-Office).
4. Transition Support: Support the work of the RC and UNCT during the transition of the UN Assistance mission to Iraq and operationalization of the new UN Cooperation Framework (2025-2029).
5. Knowledge Management: Manage and direct knowledge management and capacity development activities in and outside the UN System.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in strategic planning, sustainable development policy, and program development and management in the context of development cooperation or related area.
• Experience with multi-stakeholder coordination in the context of development cooperation or related area.
• Team leadership, team building, and management experience.
• Experience in UN interagency coordination across humanitarian/peace/development and risk management is desirable.
