About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned professional with extensive experience in refinery operations to join our team as a Classroom and On-Site Instructor. As a trusted trainer and operations expert, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training sessions to local Operations Technicians and Engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver theoretical and practical training programs that cater to the needs of our trainees.
- Evaluate trainee competence through written and practical assessments, ensuring all participants meet operational standards.
- Maintain accurate records of training progress, course completion, attendance, and any issues encountered, providing regular updates to management.
Requirements and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Education
- A Master's degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred; however, a Bachelor's degree with substantial industry experience will also be considered.
Professional Experience
- At least 10 years of experience in refinery operations, preferably in roles such as Operations Supervisor or Senior Operations Engineer.
- Significant hands-on experience with refinery unit operations.
- Minimum of 5 years of instructional experience, including the development and delivery of industry-specific training programs.
Technical Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of OSHA, EPA regulations, and refinery-specific compliance standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially PowerPoint) and other training tools.
Communication Skills
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident in delivering presentations and training to diverse audiences in both classroom and on-site settings.
Personal Attributes
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable addressing groups and facilitating both technical and hands-on learning.
