This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced VRP/TRP Coordinator to join our Iraq Business Unit.

Wood has been awarded an Operations Readiness Project to support an International Client operation by providing Project Management, Completions and Handover, Start-up, and Operations Readiness advisory and support both within Iraq and Sharjah offices. The Vision of this Contract is to enhance the operation readiness by delivering advisory support to projects that include new installations as well as a series of modifications to the existing facilities. Team of Engineers, Advisors and Operators based in Sharjah and Basra supports in execution of these projects.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the safe and timely delivery of the Vessel Remediation Program (VRP) and Tank Remediation Program (TRP) in accordance with the agreed ROO plan.  This will involve the coordination and planning of multiple vessels, tanks, and their nested scopes concurrently and at various stages of scope build, planning, preparation and execution. This is in support of the the safe and efficient delivery of the Vessel and Tank Repair Programs.
  • The Coordinator will play a central role in planning and integrating inspection-driven repair scopes and nested activities from multiple stakeholders, ensuring all work is accurately captured, fully prepared, and ready for execution. This role requires strong organizational and coordination skills.

Primary Duties:

  • Promote strong Health, Safety & Environmental culture.  Lead by example.
  • Thorough understanding of pressure vessel and tank repairs provide guidance for field execution of VRP / TRP scopes, including shell section replacements, nozzle replacements, weld overlay repairs, internal coating applications would be considered an asset
  • Coordinate all aspects of VRP/TRP from start to finish including mobilization to and de-mob from worksite. Strictly in accordance with good oilfield practice, ROO codes, procedures, quality benchmarks and standards. – Previous experience with Vessel or Tank repairs is considered an asset.
  • Coordinate and manage vessel repair worklists, integrating activities from Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, Operations, and other stakeholders into a single consolidated execution list. Detailed scopes will include confined space entry, working at height, fabrication & welding, and other high hazard activities.
  • Ensure every scope has an assigned Single Point Accountable (SPA), execution owner, and vendor engagement plan.
  • Working with scope SPA's and procurement, ensure management of spares and materials. Prioritise and identify long lead items in advance.
  • Involvement with Management of Change (MOC) process to develop effective engineering change solutions through good communication & co-ordination with engineering
  • Lead up-front coordination of nested scopes, verifying readiness, materials, resources, and permitting status ahead of execution.
  • Chair readiness meetings — including Nesting Worklist Reviews, Go/No-Go Readiness Reviews, and other coordination forums — with Maintenance, Operations, Completions, and Construction teams.
  • Work closely with the Planner and Construction Lead to maintain accurate, up-to-date progress data and support weekly schedule reviews and forecasts.
  • Monitor material availability, vendor readiness, and procurement progress to highlight risks or delays early.
  • Compile daily and weekly updates, readiness dashboards, and status reports for leadership review.
  • Promote continuous improvement and uphold the highest standards of HSE performance and operational integrity.
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities resulting from the nature of working in an Operations and Maintenance environment.
  • Ability to communicate well with Operations to develop culture of best practice electrical & process isolation, de-pressuring, closed draining, flushing, purging, spading for consistency of safe equipment shutdown preparation & aid prompt re-commissioning
  • Facilitate audits, inspections and safety observations. Ensuring follow up actions are closed out correctly and promptly.
  • Clear communication to back-to-back position through handovers pre / post field breaks.

  • Coordinate Vessel and Tank repairs from up-front planning to final close-out

Expected:

  • 5+ years' experience in Petrochemical or Oil and Gas maintenance & engineering environment. With a proven track record for execution coordination, planning, or readiness roles within the oil & gas, refining, or petrochemical industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate complex work scopes across multiple disciplines and functions.
  • HNC qualification (preferably a degree) or higher in relevant technical mechanical discipline with strong understanding of engineering fundamentals 
  • Good knowledge of asset management system (CMMS) - preferable
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and embrace clients' charter values. 
  • Foster good relationships and team working ethic with contractor groups promote safe working practices and efficiency.
  • Experience of working in an integrated team from diverse locations required.
