Mechanical Engineer

In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for managing and overseeing all essential mechanical systems across our upcoming residential and infrastructure projects. You'll ensure the highest standards of design, installation, and performance, contributing directly to the quality and success of our large-scale developments.

• Design Review & Approval:

o Thoroughly review and approve mechanical system designs, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and other specialized mechanical infrastructure elements.

o Ensure all designs comply with local and international building codes, safety regulations, industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, UPC), and project specifications.

o Collaborate with design consultants, architects, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within overall project plans.

o Evaluate proposed materials and equipment for suitability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

• Site Coordination & Supervision:

o Act as the primary technical point of contact for all mechanical works on site.

o Coordinate effectively with main contractors, mechanical sub-contractors, and other trades (electrical, civil) to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of mechanical installations.

o Oversee and monitor mechanical contractors' work progress, adherence to approved designs, and compliance with project schedules.

o Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify quality of workmanship, proper installation techniques, and conformity to safety protocols.

• Quality Assurance & Compliance:

o Implement and enforce rigorous quality control measures for all mechanical installations.

o Ensure all installed mechanical systems and components meet or exceed project specifications, performance requirements, and relevant building codes and regulations.

o Witness and approve testing, commissioning, and balancing of mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC air balancing, pressure testing of pipes, fire pump tests).

o Maintain comprehensive documentation of all inspections, tests, approvals, and any non-conformances.

• Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution:

o Proactively identify potential mechanical issues during design, procurement, or construction phases.

o Investigate and diagnose mechanical system malfunctions or deficiencies on-site.

o Develop and implement effective solutions for complex mechanical problems, often under tight deadlines.

o Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, and specialist consultants to resolve equipment-related issues.

• Documentation & Reporting:

o Prepare detailed technical reports, progress updates, and variance analyses related to mechanical works.

o Manage and review "as-built" drawings for mechanical systems.

o Maintain accurate records of all mechanical components, serial numbers, warranties, and maintenance manuals.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

• Experience: [2-4] years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering roles, specifically within the construction sector, with a focus on residential and/or infrastructure projects.

• Technical Skills:

o Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems design principles, installation practices, and relevant codes (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC, UPC).

o Proficiency in reviewing technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.

o Familiarity with construction project management software and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP) is a plus.

o Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy efficiency principles in mechanical systems is highly desirable.
