JOB TITLE: Payments Specialist

TERM: 12 months 

CLIENT LOCATION: Baghdad, Iraq

DIVISION: Payment Products 

REPORTS TO: Chief Product Officer

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 10 years in payments 

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS**: Based in Baghdad, Arab speaker, Experience in payments industry and banking retail business

PURPOSE OF JOB

The goal of the SBOS provided to provide support on agreed initiatives and to collectively drive business performance improvement with the Client

TASKS

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the client's payments business and priorities
  • Understand clients cross borders payments business and identify opportunities to acquire new payment flows both inbound and outbound
  • Build business cases and plans to tap into opportunities to drive cross border payments and accordingly gain alignment of internal and external stakeholders
  • Review, prioritize, plan and execute initiatives to drive clients cross border payments volumes
  • Review the existing payments solution and as needed, recommend introduction of new payments solutions to maximize market penetration and profitability
  • Scan the external business environment and stay updated on commercial developments in the local, regional, and global financial sector to identify business opportunities and enhance existing products
  • Monitor competitor policies, practices, and consumer trends to ensure the client's products and services remain competitive
  • Drive profitability of the payments business through budget development and close monitoring, ensuring revenues and costs align with business plans
  • Analyze and interpret business financial indicators to guide and correct variances in accordance with business plans
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to the client's payments business organization (functions required, roles, responsibilities, training requirements)
  • Identify and escalate commercial issues and risks to the appropriate teams when required

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in payments industry and banking retail business
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience
  • Based in Iraq
  • Arabic speaker
