INTECH Process Automation is seeking a seasoned Welder to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing qualified welding activities within approved process, material, and position limits. Ensure welds meet approved WPS, drawings, specifications, and quality requirements, with full traceability and support for inspection and defect repair.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform welding activities within approved qualification, process, material, and position limits.
• Follow approved WPS, drawings, welding procedures, and project specifications.
• Prepare, fit-up, align, and weld piping, tubing, supports, structures, and assigned components as required.
• Verify joint preparation, fit-up, preheat, interpass temperature, and welding parameters.
• Maintain proper electrode, filler material, consumable, and welding equipment control.
• Conduct visual checks of completed welds and identify welding defects or unacceptable conditions.
• Support NDT, inspection, repair, and weld acceptance activities.
• Carry out approved weld repairs and corrective work within qualification limits.
• Maintain weld identification, consumable traceability, weld maps, and required records.
• Ensure welding equipment, leads, earth connections, and work areas are safe and suitable for use.
• Coordinate with Welding Inspector, QA/QC, Piping, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Construction, and HSE teams.
• Stop work and report deviations, defective materials, unsafe conditions, or procedure conflicts.
• Maintain good housekeeping, fire prevention, and hot-work controls.
• Comply with PTW, hot-work requirements, HSE, quality procedures, and Company standards. Requirements To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
• Valid welder trade/competency certificate for the assigned grade, welding process, material, and position.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Oil & Gas or comparable industrial facilities, including at least 3 years as a Certified Welder.
• Valid welder qualification/WPQ applicable to assigned welding process and materials.
• Proven ability to work strictly to approved WPS, drawings, specifications, and welding parameters.
• Experience with relevant welding processes such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW/FCAW, as applicable to the assignment.
• Knowledge of weld preparation, fit-up, preheat/interpass control, consumables, and weld defects.
• Experience supporting NDT, inspection, weld repair, and quality acceptance.
• Ability to maintain weld traceability, consumable records, and inspection documentation.
• Strong awareness of hot-work, fire prevention, confined-space, and welding safety requirements.
• Good coordination with QA/QC, Welding Inspectors, Construction, Piping, Mechanical, Instrumentation, and HSE.
• Valid site authorization and task-specific certification where required.
