We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with over 5 years of experience to join our partner company's team in Iraq. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in electricity infrastructure projects, specifically in distribution or transmission projects. You will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Design:
    • Develop detailed project plans and civil designs for electricity infrastructure projects, including transmission lines, substations, and distribution networks.
    • Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and technical evaluations.
    • Prepare and review engineering specifications, drawings, and other documents.
  2. Construction Management:
    • Supervise and manage construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.
    • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Monitor project progress, conduct site inspections, and address any issues or deviations.
  3. Quality Assurance and Control:
    • Implement quality control procedures to ensure high standards of construction.
    • Conduct regular inspections and tests to verify the integrity and safety of structures.
    • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of project activities, including reports, logs, and records.
  4. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and standards.
    • Liaise with regulatory bodies and obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  5. Project Coordination:
    • Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and other team members to integrate civil engineering aspects into overall project plans.
    • Provide technical support and expertise during project meetings and reviews.
    • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
  6. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management:
    • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
    • Identify potential hazards and implement mitigation measures.
    • Ensure all project activities adhere to HSE policies and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on electricity infrastructure projects (distribution or transmission).
  • Proficient in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related tools.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
