Job Purpose:

The Commissioning Lead-I&C will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning activities related to Instrumentation and Control systems on the BP_ROO_EPCM project in Basra, Iraq. The individual will ensure that all I&C systems are properly tested, commissioned, and integrated into the overall project.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop commissioning plans and procedures for I&C systems in coordination with the project team.
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure proper installation and testing of I&C systems.
  • Supervise a team of commissioning technicians and engineers.
  • Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on site.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the commissioning process.
  • Ensure that all I&C systems meet project specifications and standards.
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams as needed.
  • Working knowledge of Completions systems, ideally GOC (QEDI Go Completions)
  • Rotating equipment large and small experience essential
  • Knowledge of process systems, piping, materials, alignments, and working practices
  • Experience in Water treatment plants in addition to Oil & Gas would be an advantage.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Instrumentation and Control systems
  • Experience in commissioning FEED, Design, onshore, Brownfield, and Construction Site projects.
  • Good Communication in English and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Qualifications:

Mandatory: Educated to Engineering level with professional qualifications and accreditation relevant to the role.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline from a recognized institution

  • 20 years of overall experience and minimum of 5 years of experience in commissioning Instrument systems
  • Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.

Work Environment:

  • The Commissioning Lead - Instrument will work on-site at the project location in Basra, Iraq. The work environment may involve exposure to construction sites, industrial equipment, and hazardous materials. The candidate must be willing to work in a challenging and demanding environment, with the ability to adapt to changing conditions and priorities.
