Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented steward to join our team in Baghdad, Iraq.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all stewarding operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in our food service areas.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain all budgets
  • Manage sections, shifts and teams of stewards in order to achieve a smooth, safe and hygienic environment
  • Work together with all staff harmoniously
  • To have thorough knowledge of the use of all operating equipment and cleaning process
  • Implement hotel hygiene and sanitation standards and procedures
  • Ensure cleanliness and order of all stewarding stores
  • Practice economy of supplies, electricity and water whenever possible
  • Co-operate and work as a team
  • Prepares adequate and appropriate equipment for projected F&B needs
  • Dishwashing process / maintenance of the equipment
  • Handling and cleaning of equipment trolleys
  • Correct type of cleaning equipment
  • Proper handling & storing of equipment (e.g. appropriate temperature control of machine)
  • Assist in any other functions & areas as informed by the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a high-volume food service environment
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
  • Extensive knowledge of HACCP principles, hygiene standards, and safety procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
