Job Overview

The Occupational Health Nurse plays a vital role in protecting and promoting the health of working populations. This position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and performing employment-related health screenings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct medical evaluations, including annual employee physicals, medical testing, and required immunizations.
  • Evaluate medical staff to ensure compliance with guidelines for Iraq and corporate policies.
  • Ensure contractor workforces meet applicable US and host national laws for medical clearances.
  • Collaborate with medical providers to perform procedures and treatments within licensed scopes of work.
  • Work closely with Public Health Nurses, Infection Control Nurses, and other internal and external experts to address health and safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records according to relevant policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and initiatives to promote occupational health and safety.
  • Coordinate case management strategies for operating units and lead case coordination for claims.
  • Ensure timely communication and support for program participants.
  • Process Employee Incident Reports, First Reports, OSHA documentation, and associated paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with managers and HR to coordinate return-to-work assignments and employee programs.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Current experience in direct patient care in an occupational health setting, with at least 6 months of the last 12 months in the career field.
  • Proficient IT skills, including electronic medical record systems.
  • High fluency in both oral and written English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on military/government sites, as a government subcontractor or prime contractor.
  • Remote site experience is preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Current unrestricted state license or practicing license as an RN from the country of licensure.
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Additional Requirements:

  • Ongoing medical clearance and current immunizations.
  • Ability to relocate to Balad, Iraq.
  • A valid passport from the country of record is required and must be maintained during the stay in Balad.
