Custodial Services Manager

Under the supervision of the Installation Services Manager, the Custodial Services Manager directly responsible for the day to day management of the Custodial direction, planning, and coordination with sub-contractor and designated Vendors for the Support of ASG-KU occupants. Ensures personnel exhibit superior workmanship and focus upon a quality end product. Responsible for delegating the work to the staff, custodial, and any other relevant things are in proper working condition and that every employee adheres to Policies, Vectrus Policies and Standard Practices (PS&P's), Performance Work Statement, Quality Plan, Safety Plan, and OSHA requirements and guidelines. Verifies actual hours worked by personnel to reduce manpower expenditure. Accountable for the health and safety of the employees working in the assigned Custodial facilities. Works in a challenging and fast pace job with last minute changes that may require immediate attention, in order to satisfy the customer.
ResponsibilitiesThis position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
- Responsible for oversite and management of Custodial.
- Knowledge of employees capabilities, their responsibilities for the Custodial and participate in the career development of employees, to include recognition for outstanding performance, counseling for positive and negative performance.
- Monitor the quality of work by the staff responsible for providing custodial services related to the care, maintenance, and cleaning of assigned buildings/facilities and linen exchange.
- Oversee the administrative processing and maintenance of Laundry Services documents to reflect accountability, losses, gains or applicable changes of personnel and equipment.
- Plans, develops, and directs logistical and coordination support for daily Custodial Services as well as coordinate with sub-contractor for accommodation of any surge population support requirements.
- Develops SOP's, work instructions, and training plans that support contractual requirements.
- Regularly inspect the progress of the work at each camp facility to ensure that compliance to safety and quality plans are adhered to.
- Responds to all Quality/Safety non-compliance concerns/issues (i.e, Customer comments, ICARs, NCR's) to quickly resolve findings, identify, and implement measures to prevent further occurrences.
- Reviews and approves bi-monthly work schedules, subordinate work assignments, time cards, and initiates overtime forecasts requests, or adjusts schedules as necessary (subject to swing shift) to assist other sections when short staffed or when mission surge occurs.
- Responsible for property book and GFE accountability of all equipment for the Custodial Services.
- When opening occur in the sections, request replacements through the Installation Services Manager and assists as required by the Installations Services Manager and Director of Services in the interviewing process and recruitment of potential candidates for employment to Custodial services.
- Performs other duties and assignments as required.
- Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- High School diploma plus vocational training in administrative sciences, Associate degree preferred.
- Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Experience:
- Minimum of two years of housekeeping and management experience.
- Proficient in intermediate level MS Office software applications such as Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
- Preferred experience in maintaining and updating the records related to inventory.
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Preferred Supervisory experience and two to three years of experience managing entry-level employees.
- Manages a section of employees. Will have oversite of Custodial Supervisors/Leads. May provide budgets and have signature authority.
- Skills:
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Must possess excellent supervisory and management skills.
- Need to be able to delegate work to the subordinates according to the changing priorities of the USG and Customers.
- Good organization and training skills are essential.
- Possess good problem-solving skills and should be able to maintain good relations with the USG and Customers by communicating effectively and building a rapport with them.
- Flexible and have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to recognize and quickly resolve customer issues, and work independently with little or no supervision.
- Handle multiple tasks at any time.
- Working Conditions:
- Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
- Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
- Physical Requirements:
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
- Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
