Job Description

UNICEF is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Representative to lead the Country Office Programme in Iraq. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the overall programme, developing policies and strategies, and coordinating with partners to achieve results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Country Office Programme in Iraq, developing and implementing strategies to achieve UNICEF's goals.
  • Manage programme planning and development, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's Strategic Plans and standards of performance.
  • Support the Representative in leading and leveraging partnerships with public and private sectors for programme achievement.
  • Oversee the delivery of humanitarian programmes in fragile and humanitarian settings, ensuring timely, efficient, and principled implementation.
  • Represent UNICEF in various forums, building alliances and coordinating with the UN System.

Requirements:

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, international relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in development cooperation, with some experience in developing countries.
  • Experience in humanitarian settings is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required, with knowledge of another official UN language an asset.
